Responsibilities include rounding on inpatients, seeing inpatient/emergency room consults, and performing procedures such as cystoscopy for difficult catheter placement, hematuria irrigation, priapism management and more. This is a daytime only position.Duties and Responsibilities:Demonstrate a high degree of general medical and urological knowledge and exercise independent judgment as appropriateAssess the patient’s medical condition by completion of a urological examinationDocument appropriately and communicate with the appropriate physician in a timely manner as required, including, but not limited to: evaluations, treatment plans, progress reports, treatment notes, and other reports as requestedOrder and evaluate laboratory, radiological and diagnostic testsPrescribe, monitor, and adjust medications and devices based on the patient’s medical conditionDevelop and perform treatment plans in accordance with established protocolsOrder physical therapy, occupational therapy and/or home health care as appropriatePerform hospital-based procedures (cystoscopy for difficult catheter placement, hematuria irrigation, priapism management, etc.) as trainedRequired License/Experience/Skills:Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant ProgramLicensure in the state of VirginiaAbility to commute to the following hospitals: Sentara Norfolk General, Sentara Leigh, Sentara Princess Anne, Sentara Virginia Beach General, Bon Secours Maryview, Chesapeake RegionalEqual employment opportunity for all is a very important philosophy for our practice.
