Position Summary
Analyse financial information and prepare financial reports to determine or maintain record of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities for the Firm’s clients.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assists with the preparation of financial statements in accordance with accounting standards;
2. Applies knowledge of client/firm/industry trends and current issues;
3. Prepares clear and concise work papers as evidence of work performed;
4. Checks financial statements and management accounts eliminating adding, referencing and typing errors;
5. Helps identify accounting issues;
6. Applies basic tax compliance procedures;
7. Assists with tax planning for clients;
8. Prepare income tax returns for individuals, companies and trusts;
9. Completes requisite regulatory forms; and
10. Complies with lodgement program by meeting lodgement dates and requirements.
Education Requirements:
Essential
11. Business / Commerce degree with Accounting Major
Desirable
12. Commencement of CA or equivalent
Demonstrated Experience & Attributes
Essential
13. 1-2 years in a similar role
14. Strong Communication Skills
15. Strong attention to detail
16. Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
