Hudson is assisting a well-regarded Australian Government Agency in seeking an experienced and qualified APS6 Project Policy Manager as part of Cancer Control Strategy Branch.
You will be working within a lead national cancer control agency, working collaboratively within the sector including government departments, state and territory governments, peak bodies, service providers, researchers and clinical trial groups, the not-for-profit sector and Australians affected by cancer.
The Role:
As a Project/Policy Manager, you will play a pivotal role within the Cancer Control Strategy Branch, reporting directly to the Assistant Director. This role will encompass project management, program management, research and policy development. Key responsibilities include:
* Developing, managing and delivering projects, including monitoring progress and achieving project outcomes.
* Undertaking research and analysis to complete synthesis of complex information, including research findings.
* Evaluating evidence to support the development of best practice guidance.
* Developing and managing funding plans, agreements, contracts, grants and procurement activities.
* Contributing to strategic planning across work program.
* Contributing to the preparation of high-quality plans, reports and briefing materials
* Providing secretariat support for stakeholder meetings
* Liaising with internal and external stakeholders and attending meetings with them.
* Providing guidance and support to Project Officers.
Key Requirements:
* Proficiency in developing, managing and delivering projects
* Strong research and analysis skills
* Attention to detail and ability to rapidly acquire knowledge.
* Flexibility and adaptability in approach to work.
* Excellent writing skills
* Secretariat support and administrative capabilities, including contract management.
* Strong organisational, analytical, and communication skills.
* Ability to work within a team to meet deadlines and ensure work is delivered against objectives.
Experience particularly working with the public sector would be highly regarded.
* To be considered for ongoing or non-ongoing employment, candidates must be Australian Citizens.
* The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks and to obtain/maintain a Baseline security clearance (minimum requirement depending on role).
* Tertiary qualifications in relevant disciplines are highly desirable.
