About our Team
The Advanced Strategic Capabilities Accelerator (ASCA) accelerates the translation of asymmetric technologies into defence capability to take Defence further, faster. Working in close collaboration with defence industry, including Australian primes, small and medium sized businesses, and research organisations, ASCA’s priorities are driven by the National Defence Strategy, the Defence Innovation, Science and Technology Strategy, and AUKUS Pillar II – Advanced Capabilities priorities.
Since launching on 1 July 2023, ASCA is playing part in the most significant reshaping of defence innovation in decades, designed to deliver vital capabilities for the Australian Defence Force (ADF). Priorities are delivered through three programs – Missions, Innovation Incubation, and Emerging Disruptive Technologies (EDT). Further information can be found at www.asca.gov.au.
The ASCA Capability Delivery Branch (CDB) Program Management Office (PMO) is the central hub for portfolio, program, and project management practices across the organisation. Our primary role is to ensure cohesion within the CDB enterprise by standardising practices and requirements, driving efficiency, and allowing flexibility for unique program needs. We support leadership and directors in achieving ASCA capability outcomes and strategic objectives by providing standardised processes, governance, performance analytics, risk management, and reporting. Additionally, the PMO manages the project management matrix, coordinating resource allocation across delivery directorates. By fulfilling these functions, the CDB PMO enhances transparency, supports informed decision-making, and improves overall branch and program efficiency, contributing directly to the success of the ASCA mission.
