Source: Sunshine Coast Student Jobs Hub JOB DESCRIPTION An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Dental Assistant. The Senior Dental Assistant will organise, manage and provide dental assistant services and systems to dental professionals and patients in order to optimise the dental health of our eligible population. Oral Health services are provided to patient groups that meet the eligibility criteria for accessing public dental services in Queensland. Adult services are provided at clinics located at Caloundra, Kawana, Nambour, Noosa and Gympie and the Sunshine Coast University Hospital. A mobile facility provides additional adult services at Maleny and Gympie. School-based services are provided at fixed clinics located at Caloundra, Maroochydore and Nambour and at 14 mobile dental clinics distributed across the SCHHS.
Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north.

Key Responsibilities include: Provide a high standard of clinical dental assistance at both fixed and mobile facilities to dental professionals and patients. Chairside assistance, directly and through mentoring comprises up to 50% of duties. Actively communicate, participate and consult in management decisions for the team as a member of the local management team; participate in HHS Oral Health management groups as required. Lead and manage a large team of dental assistants according to Human Resource Management principles. Provide and/or coordinate mentoring and on-the-job coaching for dental assistants. Remuneration value up to $92,813 p.a., comprising salary between $76,076 - $81,346 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (CA4).
