About the role
Reporting into the Chief Executive Officer, the People and Culture Manager is responsible for leading the human resources function, contributing to the firm’s strategic growth, delivering great employee experience, supporting people performance and strengthening the employer brand in market.
We are looking for a dynamic, adaptable, people centric HR professional to partner with our Principals, people leaders, and employees. This role will work externally and internally across the firm to design, develop and implement strategies which attract, engage and develop our people at all levels to foster a high performance culture. Essential to the role, is the building of trust, establishing and nurturing internal relationships with an inclusive approach.
Key responsibilities will include:
1. Influence and instil a great employee experience through the use of contemporary people management initiatives and practices.
2. Review and execute the firm’s People and Culture strategy in support of the firms vision, mission and values and National Employee Value Proposition (EVP).
3. Manage talent acquisition, including vacancy briefing, job posting, resume screening, interviewing, pre-employment checks, and on-boarding.
4. Work with people leaders to develop and implement performance appraisal systems including, identifying progression pathways, goal setting, performance evaluations and skills analysis.
5. Manage the firm’s annual remuneration and compensation processes, including salary reviews, and employee benefits program to ensure competitiveness in market.
6. Support the firm’s learning and development programs including scheduling internal and third party training, identifying training needs, developing training materials, and delivering training.
7. Establish, maintain and periodically review policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal legislation and support the health, safety and well-being of all firm personnel.
8. Review and optimise systems, processes and procedures to ensure operational excellence including records management, privacy and compliance to professional and regulatory requirements.
9. Provide guidance and support to Principals, people leader and employees on HR-related issues including employee relations, conflict resolution, disciplinary action, and terminations.
10. Proactively gather employee feedback and build strategies in collaboration with key stakeholders to foster a highly engaged and high performing workforce.
11. Analyse and report on HR metrics to the CEO and Principal group.
12. Occasional out of hours work and interstate travel may be required.
Who we’re after

You are an established HR professional with a minimum of 5+ years’ experience in a generalist or business partnering capacity.
To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:
13. Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field.
14. Successful track record of providing the full scope of HR support across a mid sized business (professional services experience is highly desirable).
15. Comfortable driving organisational change initiatives and implementing new policies, processes or frameworks.
16. Ability to influence and leverage relationships at all levels to gain commitment to action that supports employee, leader and firm success.
17. Exceptional communicator with the ability to convey key messages in a professional and personable manner to a wide range of audiences.
18. Strong knowledge of HR and IR laws and regulations.
19. Ability to think quickly, decisively, and effectively and works well under pressure.
20. Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion principles to foster a positive workplace culture.
21. Highly organised and hands-on self-starter, able to work across the multiple facets of the role.
22. Diplomatic and professional approach to handling issues, complaints and other employee matters, meeting all privacy, procedural, legal and compliance requirements.
23. Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft 365 including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint and HRIS systems such as Employment Hero.
