About The Role
As an Aged Care Home & Community Assistant, you will be providing personalised support to older Australians who reside around Rockhampton & surrounding suburbs. Some of the suburbs you will be supporting will range from locations such as Gracemere, South Rockhampton, North Rockhampton & Parkhurst. You will be providing support within their home; a willingness to travel is a must as you will support multiple clients a day.
This is a casual opportunity. Your working hours will predominantly be between 7am to 5pm, Monday to Friday; however, there will be occasional weekend work required. We are looking for candidates who can be available for this, as well as early morning starters who can start work from 7am.
Key Responsibilities
* Build positive relationships with clients
* Domestic assistance such as meal preparation and light house cleaning
* Personal Care including grooming and showering
* Community access to medical appointments and social activities
* Supporting with tasks and routines
Skills & Experience
* Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Disability or similar) is preferred
* Passionate about making a positive impact in our ageing community
* An Australian Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle with minimum third-party insurance.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships
* A current First Aid and CPR Certificate (must be obtained prior to employment)
Successful candidates will be required to undertake relevant pre-employment checks to ensure the safety of our clients. This includes a National Criminal History Record Check and complete a statutory declaration.
To be considered for and appointed to a position at Life Without Barriers, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a minimum of two (2) doses or hold a valid medical exemption certificate, in accordance with Life Without Barriers Employee COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. You will be required to provide evidence of your vaccination status during the recruitment process.
