DescriptionJob Title: Staff AccountantJob Summary:We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting tasks, including but not limited to, enterprise-wide balance sheet reconciliations, P/L review, full GL close responsibilities for multiple business units, general ledger entries, and assisting with other various accounting responsibilities as needed. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.Key Responsibilities:1. Assist in the preparation and maintenance of accurate and timely financial records, including journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations.2. Participate in month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all deadlines are met.3. Reconcile bank statements and other balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.4. Assist with month end close processes by reviewing and reconciling subledger revenue, deferred revenue and customer receivable reports, posting recurring journal entries and analyzing P/L variances.5. Collaborate with Business Unit leaders and other support service departments to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions and proper expense allocation.6. Assist with the preparation of audit schedules and support auditors during annual audits.7. Help identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting operations.8. Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations and standards, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.9. Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed to support operational leaders.Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Accounting, or related field required.- 2+ years of experience in accounting or accounting roles.- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and demonstrated comfort level with accounting software such as Quickbooks, great plains and/or other similar application(s).- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.- Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
