Our client is currently seeking a proactive and hands-on casual Leading Hand / Supervisor to join their hydroponic greenhouse operation
About the Company Eden Farms is a family-owned and operated hydroponic greenhouse cucumber grower with more than 40 years' experience.
We currently operate across two farms located in the Bundaberg region.
Our team of over 80 employees combines decades of expertise with advanced technology to produce safe, trusted, and quality cucumbers year-round for major supermarkets nationwide.
The Opportunity You will work closely with management to oversee daily activities, ensuring efficient production and a safe, productive workplace.

Key ResponsibilitiesLead and support a small team (10 – 20 people) of greenhouse workers, providing ongoing training and guidance.Foster a positive work culture that promotes teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.Operational Oversight:Monitor day-to-day greenhouse operations, including planting, harvesting, and crop maintenance.Oversee and adjust irrigation monitoring systems as needed, ensuring optimal growing conditions.Workplace Safety:Ensure a safe working environment by implementing and enforcing health and safety guidelines.Conduct regular inspections, identify potential hazards, and promote a culture of safety awareness.Quality Control & Compliance:Uphold high-quality standards in all greenhouse processes.Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.Equipment & Inventory Management:Operate (and train others on) relevant machinery and equipment (forklift experience desirable).Keep accurate records of stock levels, tools, and supplies.Work closely with the Grower Manager to meet production goals and deadlines.Communicate effectively with all levels of staff, providing updates on tasks and progress.Qualifications & SkillsProven experience in a leading hand role (preferably in horticulture or agriculture).Knowledge of hydroponic or greenhouse operations is highly desirable.Familiarity with irrigation monitoring systems and basic horticultural practices.Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to train and motivate team members effectively.Ability to work under time pressure, adapt to changing conditions, and problem-solve on the go.Forklift license (or willingness to obtain) is preferred.Availability to work rotating weekends.What We OfferThis is a Casual position engaged under the Horticulture Award 2020.Year-round work available (not seasonal).A collaborative and supportive team environment.Opportunities for skill-building in horticultural practices.Apply for this Opportunity Please email your cover letter and resume (including contactable references) outlining your relevant experience to ****** by 7th February 2025.
