Specialist Disability Justice CoordinatorJoin to apply for the Specialist Disability Justice Coordinator role at Victorian Department of Families, Fairness & Housing.THE ROLEThe Specialist Disability Justice Coordinator (RTF) is positioned in the Disability Justice Coordination program, focused on assisting individuals with disabilities who are being admitted to, residing in, or transitioning from a Residential Treatment Facility (RTF). Working closely with Forensic Residential Services (FRS), Forensic Disability Clinical Services and external stakeholders, this position will engage with clients and their care teams throughout the different stages of the client's journey through the RTF. Case management tasks include liaising with NDIS-funded providers, facilitating and chairing care team meetings, sourcing community-based programs, leading transition planning, preparing high-quality reports for court and the Forensic Leave Panel, and representing the department in court for these matters. The Specialist Senior Disability Justice Coordinator (RTF) will work across two FRS sites in Fairfield and Bundoora, with the option of administrative duties being performed from a local Divisional office and/or hybrid work arrangements.The role involves direct engagement with complex clients and their care teams and providing specialist knowledge and assistance. This position will maintain an up-to-date understanding of the specific legislative provisions associated with RTF clients and will work in a case management capacity, leading internal and external stakeholders to ensure the individual needs and requirements of the client are met and understood within the RTF environment.Note that RTF clients may only represent a portion of the Specialist Senior DJC (RTF) caseload, with the balance of the caseload being made up of other DJC clients as per normal allocation processes.Accountabilities Include:Collaborate with and work alongside a team of multidisciplinary staff engaged in the delivery of services to vulnerable clients.Provide practice leadership, offering specialist services and advice in relation to clients, working closely with other service providers or as a sole operator at a state-wide or broader divisional level.On behalf of the Secretary, attend and prepare for hearings at the Forensic Leave Panel, Magistrates', County and Supreme Courts as well as the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.How To Apply:Please open the position description to read more.All VPS employees (and ex-VPS employees with extended access to the Jobs and Skills Exchange website) MUST apply via the Jobs and Skills Exchange (JSE) portal.Applicants are encouraged to apply online.
