About the role The Sales Director provides essential strategic and commercial direction to the local and global sales team and will be part of the Senior Leadership Team. Partnering closely with global leadership, the Sales Director will deliver on key strategic priorities revolving around existing and new business sales and growth. Importantly, the Sales Director will mentor, support, manage and directly lead the local Australian sales team to ensure our people are operating in a productive, engaged, supported and dynamic business environment. Whilst the Sales Director will have direct management responsibilities in Australia, they will also lead the global sales strategy and be responsible for identifying, ideating and implementing ways of working and growth strategies for the global company in partnership with local Managing Directors.
Strategy, Planning and Delivery Define a clear value proposition for the business in a regulatory environment that is increasingly limiting product differentiation. Partner with the Senior Leadership team to define, develop, implement and realise a longer-term vision for the organisation. Assume strategic and operational responsibility for the Australian business from a sales perspective. Oversee the Australian company's sales operations, effectively manage resources, and inspire our talented workforce to achieve operational and customer experience excellence. Partner with the COO and Senior Leadership Team to identify, assess and ultimately implement a fit-for purpose CRM system that will optimise and streamline ways of working across the global sales team Sales, Marketing and Customer Experience Ensure the long-term financial viability of the business by actively driving sales, seeking process and cost efficiencies and expanding into new markets when feasible. Alongside the Sales team, identify potential new key accounts in the market and represent the business in negotiations, client visits, presentations, pitches and meetings. Track financials, analytics and market trends to follow performance and understand pricing strategies. Truly partner with the marketing team and ensure there is alignment in strategies, campaigns, areas of focus and initiatives. Partner with the CFO to monitor and report on sales insights and results People, Culture and Innovation Partner with local Managing Directors globally to ensure the sales strategy and team is aligned to overall goals and expectations. Focus on training, mentoring and growing the capabilities of the sales team. Develop succession planning strategies and initiatives across the globe and review overall talent capabilities across the company. Bring a proactive, dynamic, innovative and purpose-driven approach to the Sales Director role and enable the business to become more agile and adaptable to change and future growth. To be effective in this role the person will need the following:
A proven and extensive track record in senior sales positions within similar or adjacent industries. Professional experience within a coffee roasting, distribution, Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) or alcohol business would be preferrable. Ideally, the successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of the target markets (quick service restaurants (QSR), café's, hospitality etc.). Prior and demonstrated experience in a senior management or leadership position. Must have managed, supported, led and coached a multi-disciplinary team. Experience identifying and setting short and long-term strategies and vision for an organisation in partnership with senior leaders. Proven track record of successfully partnering with marketing teams and key stakeholders. Strong commercial acumen and strategic agility with the ability to set fit-for purpose, innovative, strategies that focus on continued growth and market penetration. High levels of personal initiative to get things done autonomously. A hunger to think of new ways to approach projects, tasks, processes or objectives. Ability to adapt to fast-paced and rapidly evolving industry whilst maintaining customer experience standards, quality control, staff engagement levels and commitment to BCorp and sustainability practices.
