The Role: The Registered Nurse - Anaesthesia Nursing: Strengthens health outcomes through the provision of safe quality, clinically appropriate nursing care in partnership with patient/clients, their families and other health professionals. Is an integral part of the multidisciplinary perioperative team. The focus of the role is to collaborate with the Anaesthetist, and other members of the perioperative team, by providing support for the safe administration of anaesthesia, and to provide effective back-up during critical anaesthetic situations. The Team: The Anaesthetic Nursing team provides safe, high quality, care to patients/clients undergoing elective and emergency procedural and surgical anaesthesia. The Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) is the largest public hospital in the state and operates at a level 6 capability and provides acute inpatient and outpatient surgical services for the Tasmania Health Service Hospitals South (THS Hospitals South) and is the tertiary referral for complex patients from THS Hospitals North and THS Hospitals Northwest. The RHH provides elective and emergency surgical services for the THS Hospitals South. The RHH is the tertiary referral centre for all surgical procedures with the exception of transplant surgery, complex paediatric surgery, paediatric cardiac surgery, major paediatric orthopaedic surgery and cochlear implant surgery.
