The Role Our client is a large ASX-listed organisation looking for a Tax Accountant to their Melbourne based Finance team in a role that is ideal for a tax professional that is looking to apply their skills in a large corporate environment. Your key focus will be on ensuring the accuracy of the organisation’s tax obligations, including Income Tax, FBT, and GST. You will also be involved in broader tax areas, such as tax effect accounting and various other compliance and reporting tasks. This role provides an excellent opportunity to build your expertise in tax compliance and reporting within a large, dynamic business. Key Responsibilities: Complete income tax returns, BAS and FBT returns for the Group Assist in the preparation and consolidation of Group statutory tax accounting Prepare and review supporting workpapers for income tax returns for entities Assist with reviewing the tax fixed asset registers Manage income tax and tax effect accounting computations, including reconciliation of tax deferred balances and tax expense amounts Consolidate tax notes for statutory reporting and assist with external auditor queries as required Support the management of the income tax expense and effective tax rate for the Group, ensuring accuracy in tax reporting. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure tax compliance processes are effective and timely Provide assistance and support for various tax-related queries from internal teams and external stakeholders The Candidate CA/CPA qualified (or currently completing) and coming from a Chartered or corporate ASX-listed environment, you will have a solid understanding of tax effect accounting and tax compliance across direct and indirect taxes (income tax, GST, FBT). To succeed in this role, you will have strong attention to detail, analytical skills and the ability to manage complex tasks and large volumes of data, and you will need to utilise your excellent communication skills to partner effectively with internal teams and external auditors.
