$60.38 per hour plus salary packaging | Maternal and Child Health Nurse - Early Parenting Centre Permanent Full time or Part time opportunity if preferred in Ballarat About The Role Grampians Health Early Parenting Centre in Lucas, Ballarat Victoria is now open, offering day stay and residential (home stay) services. These centres are specifically designed to support mothers, fathers, parents, carers, and families with children up to four years old, providing essential services through a dedicated nurse-led multidisciplinary team. The foundation of high-quality and safe EPC service delivery relies on: A robust nursing leadership team, led by Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Nurses, offering clinical oversight and support to the multidisciplinary clinical team. Collaborative multidisciplinary team centred around nursing expertise (MCH Nurses, registered nurses, registered midwives, enrolled nurses), supplemented by allied health professionals like social workers, psychologists, and specialist staff including Aboriginal health care workers and General Practitioners. Provide high-quality, person-centred care aligned with the EPC's model, working within a nurse-led team to support maternal health, family dynamics, and child development through collaborative care and early interventions. The service offers flexible, targeted programs such as group sessions, day stays, 4-night stays, outreach, and telehealth to enhance parent-child relationships and support parents in achieving their parenting goals. Key Responsibilities Provide MCH nursing care to admitted families and implement the EPC model of care Actively participate in opportunities for further development and learning around early parenting practices Work as part of the nurse led multidisciplinary team to support parents to achieve their parenting goals Maintain an understanding of parenting challenges and promoting prevention, early intervention, and help-seeking opportunities Recognise and promote factors that contribute to connection to culture and community diversity, and promote self-determination in decision-making Make clinical decisions based on advanced knowledge and experience in the area of early maternal health and wellbeing, child health, wellbeing and development and optimal family functioning. Make comprehensive assessment of mothers, fathers, parents, carers, families and of the health, wellbeing, and development of their children Qualifications & Experience Hold a current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a: Registered Nurse; and Registered Midwife; and Additionally, hold an accredited post graduate diploma (or equivalent) in child and family health.
