Salary: Teacher, $85,610 - $124,046 per annum (pro-rata) (SEA GA 2023)

We are seeking a motivated applicant with a passion for teaching at the secondary level, possessing a solid understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum. In your role as a Secondary Generalist Teacher, you will deliver a curriculum tailored to the diverse needs of all students, fostering an environment where every student is empowered to reach their full potential. The successful applicant’s dedication to academic excellence and high-quality teaching and learning will set the standard for our learning community.
The successful applicant should have the ability to work collaboratively to plan and implement effective teaching and learning plans. Ideally, the successful applicant will provide excellence in creating and maintaining a supportive and safe learning environment and provide educational opportunities and activities which enable students to achieve their highest potential.
With effective interpersonal skills, the successful applicant will work closely with students, colleagues, and the community to achieve the best educational outcomes for students. The successful applicant will challenge and confront complex and conventional practices to provide successful outcomes for students and continually reflect on their own practices to enhance performance.
The position will be predominately with Year 10 students in a small class group, with a focus on literacy and numeracy, to assist students to achieve Online Literacy and Numeracy Assessment (OLNA) and a successful pathway to post school. The position would also suit a primary trained teacher. At KSHS we use TeachWell strategies and have a focus on using Special Education Needs (SEN) plans where required.

Teachers and School Administrators employed at Katanning Senior High School in 2025 are eligible to receive a temporary Attraction and Retention Incentive of $3,500 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.
The temporary ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.
