We are a 189-bed, acute, private hospital facility co-located on the John Hunter Campus at Rankin Park. The hospital has 11 theatres including a hybrid theatre and a 15-bed Intensive Care Unit.We also have a cardiac suite including a cardiac catheter laboratory and a 16-bed Coronary Care Unit. A private maternity suite including 6 birthing suites and a special care baby nursery is available for families in the Newcastle region. Newcastle Private Oncology Centre provides specialty care for individuals and their families/carers undergoing all aspects of cancer treatment and care with both an inpatient unit and day infusion lounge.As Registered Nurse your responsibilities will include:Undertake acute nursing care in accordance with legislationDeliver evidence-based nursing careLiaise with the multi-disciplinary teamEnsure patient and staff safetySupervise, direct, and guide nursing team members; Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and (AINs) to deliver patient careProactively assess the perioperative nursing care provided to ensure the best possible outcome is achieved for the individual/patientComplete all required documentation in accordance with local and National PoliciesCurrent registration with AHPRA as a Registered NurseMinimum of 3 years' relevant post-registration experienceDemonstrated experience working within an acute surgical unit - Preferably in a Day Surgery, Admissions, or Recovery settingDemonstrated knowledge and application of quality improvement initiatives using research principles to support evidence-based practice, including development of policies and guidelinesDemonstrated ability to work effectively in a supportive teamDemonstrated ability to advocate for and implement individualized patient-centered careDemonstrated professional manner when working with complex situationsAdvanced communication skills as part of a multi-disciplinary team with a willingness to learn new skillsFlexibility to a seven-day roster including night dutyTo Apply: Please click on the 'Apply' button to be taken to our online application form.
