Worker Assist Tasmania is a community legal centre that supports injured workers across the state. We provide free, confidential advice, information, and community education to help workers navigate the workers' compensation system. The Role We're looking for a proactive and highly organised Administrative Assistant to join our small, passionate team. You'll be the first point of contact for many of our clients and play a key role in supporting our legal and outreach work. This role will suit someone empathetic, capable and enjoys creating a calm, professional experience for others in a busy environment.
Key Responsibilities Provide general administrative support to our advisory service teams Answer and triage phone and email enquiries in a professional and supportive manner Manage appointment scheduling and support basic diary management Assist with preparing general correspondence and documents Support community legal education and outreach activities, including logistics and materials Assist with day-to-day office coordination Work collaboratively to improve processes and support a positive team environment What We're Looking For Experience in an administrative role (legal or community sector experience highly regarded) Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including with people in distress or crisis Excellent organisation and time management skills Confident use of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams and willingness to learn new systems A calm, courteous and team-oriented approach A commitment to Worker Assist Tasmania's mission and values An understanding of, or willingness to learn about, the workers' compensation system in Tasmania What We Offer At Worker Assist Tasmania, we are committed to supporting the well-being, stability, and growth of our team.
