ORMF Oversight CoE – Senior Manager Job Specification

Risk Management is responsible for developing and deploying the risk frameworks to allow the Group to take conscious exposures to credit, market, operational, compliance and insurance risks within a Board-approved appetite. We achieve this by ensuring the Group has appropriate strategies, policies and frameworks in place to assess, manage and report on risks that may impact great customer outcomes.
Our team
The Operational Risk Management Framework Oversight Centre of Excellence (“ORMF Oversight CoE”) team supports the Group’s vision through optimising operational risk management.
Your reporting lines
You will report into the CoE Team Lead / Chapter Lead for ORMF Oversight. Your Manager Once Removed (MOR) is the Centre of Excellence Lead for Group Operational Risk.
Your responsibilities
* Strengthen and optimise Group-wide operational risk management practice and empower the Business, Line 1 Risk and Line 2 Risk and Compliance teams to manage risks effectively and efficiently.
* Actively partnering with Business Profile Owners, Risk Owners, and Control Owners to drive consistency in approach to Risk management, with the objective of shared success and achievement of strategic objectives, including our goal achieving of NPS+30.
* Providing commercial, value-added and insightful monitoring, advice and training to Business, Line 1 Risk and Line 2 Risk and Compliance teams to enhance risk management capabilities and levels of compliance across the Group.
* Continuous improvement and simplification of operational risk practices / processes including the identification of opportunities for streamlining and productivity.
* Participating in the broader Group Operational Risk and Group Compliance teams and contributing to team and community objectives.
* Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills, including experience in dealing with senior management.
* Demonstrated experience in delivering large scale initiatives / projects involving broad stakeholder groups.
* Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
* Proven ability to prioritise, schedule and meet challenging deadlines.
* Deep functional understanding of operational risk frameworks and how they impact an organisation.
* Degree in a financial, business, or risk management discipline.
* Minimum of 7 years of operational risk knowledge and experience, preferably in the banking and finance sector.
* Previous experience in an advisory / consulting firm will be well regarded.
* Strong understanding of the banking regulatory environment, including APRA prudential standards, ASIC regulation, and other key domestic and global regulation.
