About the role
As the Senior Finance Officer, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations and reporting of our dynamic organisation. You will assist the Senior Accountant to manage and deliver the finance function with motivation and a commitment to professional excellence.
What you’ll be doing
* Undertaking bank reconciliations
* Providing general accounting support and guidance
* Completing month end general ledger reconciliations
* Compiling and completing grant applications and assisting the Financial Accountant/Senior Accountant in preparing acquittals with internal stakeholders
* Asset register maintenance
* Assisting with audit preparation and required documentation
* Assisting with accounts payable/accounts receivable
* Reconciling credit card and petty cash
* Preparing ad-hoc and regular reports as required
What we’re looking for
* A relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance
* Previous experience in a similar finance role, preferably within the not-for-profit or public sector
* Expertise in financial management, accounting, and budgeting principles and procedures
* Proficient in the use of financial software and spreadsheet applications
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality financial outcomes
* Commitment to continuous improvement and a strong attention to detail
Requirements
* Right to work in Australia with no restrictions.
* Satisfactory national criminal history check.
* Ability to obtain a working with children clearance (Ochre Card).
