A full time, permanent opportunity has become available in our Risk & Assurance team within Bupa Government Contracts. This includes the Bupa ADF Health Services contract (ADFHS) which provides integrated and seamless end-to-end health support to 85,000 Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel across 59 facilities as well as Bupa Medical Visa Services (BMVS) which provides visa and migration medical services on behalf of the Department of Home Affairs as part of the Health Requirement and includes onshore health examinations and onshore / offshore health assessments of visa applicants.Reporting to the Head of Risk & Assurance – ADF & BMVS, this role is accountable for leading the activities supporting the effective implementation of Risk Management Frameworks (including Work Health and Safety Management) and related policies and governance activities for government contracts. How will I help? Key accountabilities include but are not limited to: Risk function:
1. Supporting government contracts with the effective and efficient delivery of the governance, risk, quality, health & safety and compliance frameworks which are consistent with Bupa A&NZ frameworks and contract requirements
2. Assisting management and stakeholders to better understand the risks that they face in pursuit of government contract objectives and ensuring that there is a risk and governance culture in line with Bupa values
3. Management of the risk and control framework and provide management with an understanding risk profile, the status of control environment and in the management of issues and incidents
4. Planning and leading processes for the identification, reporting and escalation of risk related matters to the government contracts leadership teams, and the HS risk and governance forums

5. Oversight and management of internal WHS reporting to Bupa stakeholders (
6. Collate data, create and populate various and undertaking reporting for HS Risk and Assurance forums and all reporting to Joint Health Command and equivalent forums
7. Management of WHS risks including review of controls and effectiveness of controls
8. Supporting the development and work with the Health Services WHS Specialist to prioritise and action ADF Action Plan
9. Provide operational support to the wider ADF team; contributing to the identification of emerging risk issues and improvement opportunities and initiatives and promote health and wellbeing initiatives within ADF

What do I need?
12. 7+ years’ experience in implementing risk and control frameworks and experience implementing successful WHS processes and policies
13. Relevant tertiary qualifications in risk management or equivalent
14. Professional qualifications in WHS management will be highly regarded
15. Experience in ISO45001 or Australian Standard AS 4801 Occupational Health and Safety Management System Accreditation
16. WHS management experience in a large and geographically dispersed organisation, preferably in a clinical / health environment
17. Prior experience with use of GRC systems
18. A proven track record of effective stakeholder management and engagement including skilful facilitation of risk workshops with senior leadership
19. Sound analytical skills, and the ability to extract insights from information and provide an informed opinion on health & safety risks and the adequacy of controls.
20. Well organised, flexible and adaptable and able to work under significant pressure and intensity - handling multiple competing priorities and working to multiple senior stakeholders
21. Proficient in the ability to influence, negotiate, convince and persuade through your highly developed written and verbal communication skills
22. Demonstrated commitment to, and practice of, leadership driven culture and building collaborative working environments
23. This is a Security Cleared Position. The occupant must be an Australian Citizen and must be eligible to obtain and uphold a Baseline Security Clearance
