Senior Modeller - Photo-Realistic Feature Film Work
We are seeking talented Senior Modellers to join our growing team for photo-realistic feature film work. This is a 3-4 month contract position, open to Australians and those with the right to work in Australia.
Position Overview
Successful candidates will have a demo reel that showcases both artistic vision and technical expertise in creating high-quality assets for feature film. This includes clean, production-ready models of photo-real objects with wireframe examples.
Responsibilities
* Create and deliver organic and hard surface models meeting creative and technical briefs.
* Design UVs for all assets to meet the standard of the Look Development and Texture department.
* Work independently with other departments, such as Rigging, Look Development, and Effects.
* Re-topologise lidar scans or hi-res models provided by vendors if required.
* Presentation: ensure internal reviews hit creative and technical notes.
* Foster a collaborative workplace environment.
Requirements
* 5-7 years professional experience in model asset creation, or exceptional talent and potential.
* Expert user of production-ready software, including Maya, Mudbox, Z-Brush, UV layout, Zwrap, Speedtree, and Mari/Substance painter.
* Clean topology fundamentals and ability to create precise UVs using UDIM approach.
* Strong understanding of human anatomy and creature anatomy.
* Ability to ingest character scans, conform in-house models, and work with FACS data.
* Texturing experience, Houdini procedural modelling knowledge, and artistic background (drawing/painting) are advantageous.
* Working knowledge of Linux system environment and real-world understanding of proportion, depth, scale, and physical space.
