An exciting opportunity to join the Manipulate Arts team in the senior position of Producer, leading on delivery of all our projects and activities including the international Manipulate Festival.
We have an exciting opportunity for a new team member to join us in the pivotal role of Producer, working across our portfolio of projects and activities. This senior permanent post will play a vital role in the team, lead producing Manipulate Festival along with our year-round Captivate and artist development programmes. They will also support the Artistic Director & CEO in the strategic development of our work.
Manipulate Arts' mission is to champion, develop and present animated film, puppetry and visual theatre in Scotland and internationally. All our work is focused around artforms which breathe life into the inanimate or tell stories using primarily images rather than text. Play and manipulation are at the heart of all the work that we champion and support – whether of puppets, objects, digital imagery, or of the human body. We produce an annual international festival in February each year, Manipulate Festival, alongside our year-round engagement programme Captivate and our artist development programme.
We are a small, close-knit team based in Edinburgh but with a commitment to enabling flexible and remote working wherever possible. The role has a broad focus and will require great teamwork alongside creativity, passion, rigour, innovative thinking and attention to detail. The position would particularly suit a candidate with a background in producing and promoting creative events, and a passion for live performance or animated film.
The position is advertised as full time at 32-37 hours per week, meaning that within the limitations of programme needs at particular moments, staff will set their own working hours within the range specified. This is part of our commitment to providing healthier and more flexible work opportunities for our team. The role is advertised with a salary of £35k per year.
