About us Apprenticeship Support Australia (ASA) in partnership with the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) has been awarded the Australian Government's contract to support apprenticeships and traineeships in South Australia for 2024 – 2026.ASA is leveraging our 26 years of existing apprenticeship support services nationwide through enhanced services to further improve retention, completion, and satisfaction rates for apprentices and their employers.ASA provides free quality end-to-end advice and assistance, ensuring a clear understanding for apprentices and employers on how to access quality support when needed throughout their apprenticeship or traineeship.Apprenticeships and traineeships play a vital role in the Australian Vocational Educational and Training system.They contribute significantly to the Australian economy by bridging the gap between individuals' career aspirations and employers' skills requirements.These apprenticeships provide opportunities for people to receive training, pursue studies, and earn an income across a diverse range of occupations.ASA is proud to be a contributor to this vital system in South Australia.About the role The Industry Training Consultant (ITC) will conduct the sign-up process of apprentices and trainees in the workplace face to face, providing consistent and accurate information about their apprenticeship, conditions, rights, and obligations for both parties under the Training Contract, advice on appropriate qualifications, and relevant approved training providers.The ITC will ensure the appropriateness of the apprenticeship arrangements, including determining the appropriate qualification for the apprenticeship and assisting AAs and employers to understand and complete the Training Contract and access support services to improve AA completion rates.This role is also responsible for identifying, attracting, and acquiring new clients while expanding apprenticeship and traineeship opportunities through a proactive and consultative sales approach and effective networking.This key responsibility will be to understand prospective clients' needs and convert these insights into new apprenticeship or traineeship sign-ups and fostering long-term partnerships.About you This position is well suited to an organised individual who can work autonomously, thrives in a busy environment, and has the ability to build rapport with various internal and external stakeholders.In addition, you will have:A sound understanding of the Australian Apprenticeship System is preferred.Proven ability to build rapport with the business community and stakeholders.Proven business development experience and success, ideally within the Australian Apprenticeship system.Ability to build and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders, which includes but is not limited to employers, RTOs, GTOs, TAFE, and Employment Service providers.Proven experience in developing and implementing business strategies to achieve growth targets.Strong interpersonal skills, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address challenges and identify opportunities.Strong communication, liaison, and networking capabilities.Proficient skills in MS Office, and the ability to use external computer-based databases.The ability to interpret Government guidelines and related VET legislation.The successful candidate will be provided with the required tools to perform the role, including a mobile phone allowance, laptop, and vehicle, in addition to a competitive salary.Please note that the successful applicant/s will be subject to a range of pre-employment checks including a satisfactory police check, working with children check, work-related references, and evidence of working rights as a pre-condition of employment.A current and valid driver's licence is also a requirement of this position.How to apply If this sounds like you, please apply online under the Careers section of our website, www.victorianchamber.com.au/careers.Applications, including a cover letter addressing one question only which is "What has attracted you to apply for this role and what can you bring to this role and our organisation" should be addressed to the HR Team.The position description can be found under the Careers section of our website.#J-18808-Ljbffr
