The Opportunity
Komatsu Mackay Branch is seeking an experienced workshop manager to lead a large team of mechanical fitters, HV Electricians, Auto Electricians, and Project planning team.
Main Responsibilities
* Work collaboratively with interdepartmental teams to achieve common goals.
* Foster a culture of 5S, HSSE, and continuous improvements in the workplace.
* Manage customer relationships through regular site meetings and quarterly visits.
* Develop training programs for the team, providing a minimum of 5 days technician training per year.
* Promote a safe and efficient work environment by conducting regular audits and implementing corrective actions.
* Ensure effective WIP management by driving a culture of accurate work order opening and monitoring WIP reports weekly.
* Provide a proactive approach to reducing rework by promoting best practices and investigating corrective actions.
* Apply a disciplined approach to expense control, reducing unnecessary spend and reviewing all expense accounts monthly.
* Manage utilisation to target by ensuring correct rosters and shifts are in place and overtime is controlled and authorised.
