Shaping community-focused research and student successLead impactful community-based MD projects and foster collaboration with general practice teamsFull time, 2 year Fixed-Term role based in LauncestonAbout the opportunity We are seeking to appoint a General Practice and community-based student MD project support academic at the Launceston Clinical School in the Tasmanian School of Medicine which is part of the College of Health and Medicine.
This position will oversee Launceston Clinical School student MD projects in general practice or community settings under the direction of the Launceston Clinical School based Professor in General Practice or their delegate. The position will work closely with the team delivering student MD projects within the Launceston Clinical School and across the state. The position will develop and deliver supervision skills within the general practice team to ensure general practice-based projects can be sustained over the longer term.
What you'll do: Make an effective and sustained contribution to the University in achieving its strategic objectives and fulfilling its operational responsibilities.Support high-quality research of national, contribute to securing external competitive and other funding.Contribute to the publication of research findings and contribute to the successful supervision of medical students, in order to meet and regularly exceed the University's research performance expectations for Level C.Undertake scholarly undergraduate coursework teaching of a high quality.Contribute to the development and maintenance of productive and effective links inside the University and locally and nationally with the discipline, relevant interdisciplinary domains, profession, industry and/or wider communityWhat we're looking for: A PhD or equivalent in a relevant field.A clinical qualification registered with the Australian Health Practitioners Agency.Clinical experience as a primary care clinician and a sound understanding of the Australian general practice context.A good record of, and continuing commitment to, research that has achieved national recognition and made worthwhile contributions to the field of primary care demonstrated by a record of quality publications, presentations at conferences and preferably success in securing external competitive and other funding.Experience in University-level teaching and learning.Salary details Appointment to this role will be at Academic Level C and will have a total remuneration package of up to $178,024 comprising base salary within the range of $133,981 to $152,157 plus 17% superannuation.
