This role is part of the Data, Analytics, and Insight team, with a secondary reporting line to relevant heads within the organisation. The position is crucial for fostering collaboration between the data team and business users, capturing and articulating data requirements, and enhancing data and analytic capabilities across the organisation.What you will be doingStakeholder Engagement: Develop strong working relationships across Impact, Finance, Data, Transformation, and other relevant departments. Manage the uplift of data and analytics in decision-making processes.Best Practices: Establish and lead best practice business partnering processes and procedures for stakeholder engagement across the data, analytics, and insight team.Data Transformation: Develop data transformation process improvements to ensure efficient and effective data models for visualisation and reporting.Data Management: Drive the collection, cleansing, merging, and management of data from various sources. Participate in the automation and documentation of tasks/procedures.Self-Service Analytics: Lead the movement towards self-service analytics across the organisation.Business Cases and Reporting: Partner with senior leaders in preparing business cases, discussion papers, and steering committee packs. Ensure data solutions promote the development of reusable/cross-functional data assets.Regulatory Data: Act as a business partner for departments including Impact Management, Credit Risk, and APRA Reporting to provide expertise on regulatory requirements such as climate and capital. Support the bank's regulatory compliance and related reporting requirements.Regulatory Risk Assessment: Drive the approach to assessing regulatory risks, including capital adequacy and compliance with regulatory standards. Assist in scenario analysis and stress testing.Regulatory Opportunity Data: Improve the bank's ability to measure and track regulatory compliance metrics and progress towards regulatory targets.Reporting and Disclosure: Collaborate with various departments to provide key inputs for annual impact and financial reporting, credit risk reports, and regulatory-related reporting forms.Data Visualisation: Design, develop, and deploy operational, strategic, and analytical dashboards related to business needs using tools like PowerBI and SSRS. Provide leadership on best practice and innovative PowerBI solutions.What you will bringExtensive knowledge of Regulatory, Finance or Treasury practices and reporting within a retail banking environment.Extensive BI experience and solid understanding of BI principles.Strong experience with PowerBI, database tools (e.g., Microsoft SSMS), and programming languages (e.g., Python, R).Demonstrable experience in business analysis, operational risk, compliance testing, and change management.Excellent communication, collaboration, and the ability to challenge norms and influence people with data-driven insights.Expertise in developing and using regulatory-related data, models, scenarios, and projections.Strong exposure to project or transformation activities, including gathering and developing comprehensive business requirements.Ability to manage stakeholder expectations across all levels of the organisation.Ability to manage simultaneous actions and tasks within a project.Logical and analytical thinker with creative problem-solving skills.Thrive in a busy, diverse, and dynamic environment.Commitment to Bank Australia's purpose, aspiration, values and brand as well as the B Corp ethos.By submitting an application you agree to Bank Australia's Privacy Policy for applicants and confirm that you are legally able to work in Australia.
