We are dedicated to delivering exceptional handmade products and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.About the role We are seeking an experienced Assistant Operations Manager to oversee our Bakehouse complex and team in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Bakehouse Operations Manager, this role provides a hands-on opportunity to improve production efficiency, drive operational improvements, and uphold high-quality standards. Key responsibilities include:Promote and uphold our Company values and team culture of continuous improvement - lean thinking. Review production systems to identify opportunities to boost efficiency. Provide strong, hands-on leadership and support to the Bakehouse team of approximately 50 employees Assist the Bakehouse Operations Manager in meeting schedules and key result areas; labour, cost of goods etc. Lead and coordinate resources within the Bakehouse team including identifying and exploring new methods of operating; with a major focus on continual improvement - Maintain standards and ensure compliance with Quality Assurance (QA), Workplace Health and Safety (WHS), and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) standards. Skills and Experience Required: Proven experience in a hands-on leadership position within a baking, hospitality or food manufacturing environment. Have a chef/ baker/ pastry cook background (desirable) Strong knowledge of Good Manufacturing Processes, Safe Operating Procedures, and HACCP principles. Experience with process improvement, LEAN manufacturing or similar systems. Strong problem-solving abilities. Understanding of financial outcomes to drive profitability. Proficiency in Microsoft office and excel Physically fit to be able to work in a cold and noisy environment, walking up and down, standing, sitting, pushing, pulling, lifting, Valid Australian driver's licence and reliable transport.
