Your new role
This role is seeking a skilled and dedicated Smooth Drum Roller Operator to join the team at the civil subdivision site. The ideal candidate will have experience operating heavy machinery, specifically smooth drum rollers, and a commitment to ensuring the safety and quality of all work performed.
Key Responsibilities:
* Operate smooth drum roller machinery to compact and smooth surfaces during construction projects.
* Conduct pre-start checks to ensure machinery is in safe working condition.
* Perform regular maintenance and minor repairs on roller machinery.
* Monitor and adjust the speed of the roller to ensure optimal compaction.
* Communicate with construction crews to coordinate operations and maintain safety.
* Inspect surfaces for consistency and quality, identifying and correcting any irregularities.
* Adhere to health and safety regulations, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).
* Submit daily reports outlining progress and any issues encountered during operations.
What you'll need to succeed
You will need the following tickets and experience to be considered for the position:
* Proven experience as a Smooth Drum Roller Operator or similar role. *This position is required to be ticketed as an operator and not able to do VOCs*
* Knowledge of heavy machinery operation and maintenance.
* Strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
* Excellent communication and coordination skills.
* Valid driver's licence and relevant certifications (White Card, Asbestos Awareness and Silica Awareness)
