Brisbane is home to our corporate office which is where this role is based.About your potential new position:Glencore Zinc Assets Australia has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join our Financial Controlling team. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this role fulfils a regional function that provides guidance to site Finance teams, reports consolidated Zinc Assets Australia financial results to the Zinc Department and aims to provide detailed variances analysis and give detailed information to management.Your key accountabilities and responsibilities include: Review and validate site financial reporting. Prepare and report consolidated financial results, including variance commentary. Prepare, review and submit external audit supporting documents. Evaluate general ledger balance sheet reconciliations with a risk-based focus. Support regional functions as required (Tax, Insurance, Finance). Issue accounting guidelines for the ZAA group. Perform financial variance analysis as required. Provide financial insights from a site and consolidated perspective. Prepare technical accounting memos as required, and review memos prepared by site teams. Perform accounting standard conformance self-assessments. Proactively implement process improvements through business partnering with various finance/operations departments. Progress opportunities for continuous improvement and report on benefits realised. Implement ad-hoc projects as assigned. Provide ad-hoc accounting guidance to site finance teams (technical, system, etc). Work with site finance teams to improve reporting processes. You will need: Demonstrated capability of performing financial consolidations of large complex organisations (Smelting & Refining industry experience will be highly regarded). Strong financial analysis (both financial accounting and management accounting) and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail. Experience in proactive implementation of process improvements through business partnering with various finance/operations departments. Experience in driving a robust internal controls governance culture, including development of accounting policies, writing technical accounting memos, working with site finance teams to assess financial compliance, and improving internal controls over financial reporting. CA qualification or equivalent international professional accreditation. SAP, HFM and Anaplan experience will be highly regarded. Competent with Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel knowledge. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience in the application of accounting standards, legislative requirements and practices within a commercial environment. Experience in the application of contemporary reporting, and financial management practices. Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction.
