About the Role:
As a Mine Controller, you will be at the forefront for providing clean, accurate data for operational monitoring and business decision making. Your expertise in this role will be critical in monitoring underground operation cycles and activities (load/haul and development) and a range of other business critical responsibilities.
Location: Prominent Hill, South Australia (60-minute flight from Adelaide / 30-minute flight from Port Augusta)
Roster: 8 days on; 6 days off 7 days on, 7 nights off
In This Role You Will:
* Efficient dispatch of underground haulage fleet according to planned priorities.
* Monitor machine and location statuses to ensure accurate data in daily reporting.
* Monitor and manage the underground signs and surface cones register, and communication of hazards.
* Validation of data, investigation of and updating data requests from stakeholders.
* Monitor and manage underground infrastructure via the Citect monitoring systems; ventilation on demand, remote water sprays, primary fans, and pump stations and co-ordinating responses to faults.
* Assist in the coordination of emergency response including activation of Emergency Response Team, Duty Cards, and Incident Management Team.
* Provide proactive leadership in managing unplanned events underground to ensure safe operations and minimisation of operational impact.
* Monitor and respond to open pit wall monitoring system and underground geotechnical events.
* Assist in the co-ordination of daily servicing of underground loaders.
* Monitor and manage surface fleet data.
* Participate in process reviews and rollouts, including presenting in pre-start meetings and coaching of operators.
* Assist with projects relating to the monitoring and automation of the mine processes e.g., ventilation fan, dewatering pumps, and ore hoist monitoring.
* Propose cost initiatives to reduce waste, consumables, rework, energy, and error.
* Logging IT faults and assisting in diagnosis of issues.
* Compliance with all processes and procedures.
About You:
* Previous experience in a mine control room or comparable environment.
* Demonstrated experience and understanding of underground mining environments and the regulations and safety protocols of this setting.
* Highly developed level of computer literacy skills with Microsoft Office suite and the Citect system.
* Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation and mining regulations including occupational health and safety.
* Demonstrated experience in fostering strong safety culture based on open and transparent communication with all operational stakeholders.
* Prior experience utilising problem solving and analytical skills to overcome problems to achieve productive outcomes.
* Demonstrated ability to be self-directed and to work autonomously to achieve individual, team and organisational goals
* Well-developed oral and written communication skills, coupled with excellent attention to detail.
* Demonstrated experience of successfully managing competing priorities in a highly dynamic environment.
* Confidence in making decisions with limited information and adapting in response as the situation evolves.
