A leading mining house is seeking an experienced Cost Engineer to start as soon as possibleApplicants will need project experience, most likely from within an EPCM environment.Main duties & details are as follows:Maintain and further develop as needed the Project Cost forecast Align the project cost forecast with details from individual contractors and suppliers Maintain and further develop the project trend and change logs and ensure alignment with the project cost forecastContribute and lead in the Cost capacity reviews and analysis of the contractor variation request and cost impact of delay claimsWork closely with the area manager, site team and contractors to reach solid position on the cost forecast including all of the above input data pointsMaintain the project Capital Appropriation Requests as per the cost forecastCoordinate with the Contracts team to provide input into the Contract Variations Coordinate with the project planner to align the cost forecast with the project time schedule Provide leadership / influence without authority to the site teams in relation to setting Cost goals and performance targetsIn the Cost Control capacity, prepare the cost input to the Project Services weekly and monthly review meetings with the project team Present monthly cost updates, forecast and insights to the project management team Work from site for a week per month to facilitate coordination and effective communication with the site teamUpdate the project Cost Report using Prism and perform the monthly accruals and actual cost reconciliation using input from the financial system (SAP)Maintain management reporting in IPP ( Power BI reporting system) The role is a contract opportunity, and an appropriate hourly rate will be offered to the successful candidatesInterested parties are asked to forward a current resume via the Apply button
