What you'll be doing
The purpose of the Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) position is to provide senior nursing clinical leadership in the development of specialist clinical practice and service delivery within a nursing unit, team or service.
The CNS employs advanced clinical skills and exercises extended autonomy of decision making working closely with managers and other senior clinicians.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
1. Registered Nurse - Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years’ experience working in an acute hospital setting with clinical Neurology and/or Multiple Sclerosis, or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate.
2. Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
3. A commitment to excellence in nursing practice and continuing professional development.
4. Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
5. An understanding of the professional, ethical and legal requirements of the Registered Nurse.
