Introduction
We are seeking an Engineering Manager, TSL Smelting to join our Smelting team. This role is responsible for leading and managing the project engineering for domestic and global projects for Ausmelt TSL Smelting technology as part of the Non-Ferrous and Smelting Recycling Product Group.
The position is located in Metso's Dandenong, Melbourne office and will report into the Director, TSL Smelting. We are open to supporting a domestic relocation for the right person and skillset.
Team you belong to
Our TSL Smelting group team forms part of Smelting business line and is part of our Non-Ferrous and Smelting recycling product group. You will work with other sales team, Product Manager, Process Engineers, and Project Managers to lead and manage the Engineering team of Ausmelt TSL technology.
What you'll do
Responsible for leading, managing and executing engineering work related to TSL projects in accordance with Metso's guidelines and engineering procedures. Responsible for ensuring work methods and design deliverables meet the requirements of Metso PSM (Product Safety Management), HSE and QA processes, and comply with Metso and Client standards. Lead the engineering team and resourcing of a multi-disciplined team including mechanical, structural, electrical and control system engineers and designers. Manage and control engineering performance including reporting. Manage communication with customer's engineering operations, with engineering sub-contractors. Manage engineering changes. Manage engineering documentation workflow. Support TSL product management and product development, including R&D projects, product standardization. Responsible for supervision of equipment installations, workshop and site commissioning as and when required. Supporting other product groups and business lines as and when required. Responsible for providing support to sales and proposal teams of product lines and business areas as and when required, which involves estimation, review of client specifications, development and review of project plans and scheduling. Who you are
Engineering Graduate with at least 10 years of design experience in a medium to large metals processing and/or mining industry projects. A Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) and NER registered with Engineers Australia. Experience of all phases of process plant projects from concept development through to design, supply and commissioning. Experience with burner systems, hoisting systems, heavy steelwork fabrications, pressure piping and automation systems is highly regarded. Experience with risk assessment, HAZOP, SIL allocation and similar activities. Professional and positive approach. Experience in technical procurement support and quality control for industrial equipment and systems. Resource and work planning and organizing skills. Strong diagnostic, problem solving and decision-making skills covering design through to plant operation project phases. Ability to manage people. Ability to self-manage, work as part of a team and deliver multiple projects concurrently. Willingness for infrequent, short-term domestic and international travel.
