The Senior Case Manager for Workers' Compensation Self-Insurance is responsible for managing complex workers' compensation claims and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to facilitate effective case management, promote recovery, and reduce costs.
Key Responsibilities
* Case Management:
Oversee a caseload of workers' compensation claims from inception to resolution. Assess and evaluate claims to determine appropriate actions and resolutions.
* Communication:
Serve as the primary point of contact for injured employees, medical providers, and legal representatives. Provide timely and accurate information regarding claims status and processes.
* Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure adherence to state and federal regulations related to workers' compensation and self-insurance. Stay updated on changes in legislation and best practices.
* Claims Analysis:
Analyse claims data to identify trends, and areas for improvement. Prepare reports and presentations for management.
* Intervention Strategies:
Develop and implement strategies to facilitate injured employees' timely return to work. Coordinate with occupational health services and rehabilitation providers.
* Training and Mentoring:
Provide training and support to junior case managers and staff on case management best practices and compliance requirements.
* Stakeholder Collaboration:
Work closely with customer injury management and return to work teams to create a comprehensive approach to injury prevention and claims management.
* Dispute Resolution:
Assist in resolving disputes related to claims, including liaising with legal counsel when necessary.
Qualifications
* Education:
Bachelor’s degree in allied health, or related field desirable. Certification in Workers' Compensation is a plus.
* Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in workers' compensation claims management.
* Skills:
o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
o Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
o Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
o Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Knowledge:
In-depth understanding of case management, workers' compensation laws, regulations, medical terminology and rehabilitation processes
