About the role Due to the increase in new and exciting transactions at AGL, an opportunity has arisen for a Senior Accountant within our Group Reporting and Advisory team. This position will support AGL’s response to sustainability reporting requirements, provide high quality technical accounting advice and maintain AGL’s enterprise-wide accounting policies, responding to changes in accounting standards. The role will also actively lead and contribute to supporting team projects. What you’ll be doing Work alongside the sustainability reporting team, the role will contribute to the assessment, plan and implementation of controls and processes to ensure AGL is compliant with existing and emerging ESG reporting requirements. Provide high quality advice on complex accounting transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, disposals, derivatives and legal entity accounting. Build, maintain and apply AGL’s portfolio of enterprise-wide accounting policies, ensuring policies continue to be fit for purpose as the business evolves. Actively contribute to the professional growth and continuous learning of the AGL’s broader finance team. Prepare and coordinate board-level reports that provide strategic insights into the key judgements applied by the group. Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across all levels of seniority and across business lines. Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate the audit process, ensuring all financial reporting is in line with required standards. Oversee and manage reporting-related projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within scope. About you Extensive technical accounting experience and high level of understanding of consolidation accounting. Experience in complex accounting matters such as M&A transaction advisory, group consolidations, derivatives and legal entity accounting. Qualified accountant (CA/CPA) with consulting experience (Big 4 desirable). Experience with large ERP systems (SAP desirable). Advanced stakeholder management skills and adept in keeping stakeholders engaged and informed. Proactive and able to manage priorities with limited supervision and direction. Works as part of a team to deliver on shared objectives, shares experience and knowledge to help develop others regardless of reporting lines, contributes to team projects and deliverables.
