Newcastle based office - Competitive Salary. Our client is a well-established firm based in Newcastle, NSW. Due to growth within the business, they've identified the need for bringing on a Senior Accountant to help grow the capability of the team. Key to your success will be leveraging your experience and ability to coach and mentor graduate/junior accountants in the firm, so this means you'll be in the office working alongside them 4 or 5 days a week. About the role: Directly support directors, managers, and clients/stakeholders. Prepare compliance work for a broad client base (Including financial reports, tax returns, BAS, IAS, PAYG and payroll tax). Prepare management reporting packs. Assist the manager and director with advisory work. Attend to tax matters, including GST, CGT, FBT and Div7a. Ensure all compliance reporting deadlines are met. Coach junior staff, including reviewing their work or assigning appropriate tasks for them to assist you with. About you: Minimum 5 - 7 years' experience in public practice/in a business services firm. Commenced or completed CA/CPA. Completed a commerce/accounting/finance degree or similar. Excellent technical knowledge across all relevant legislation. Committed to delivering an exceptional client experience. Experience in coaching, managing and inspiring others. Proven flexible, adaptable and innovative problem-solver. Professional, friendly and down to earth. Great communicator and team player. Bonus Points For: Knowledge of Xero, Microsoft Word, Excel, MYOB, and Reckon or have aptitude for embracing and adopting new software suites and technologies. Aptitude for explaining functionality of software suites (such as Xero) to clients and willingness to attend client meetings to present or demonstrate functionality. SMSF Experience.
