About the Role An exciting opportunity to join BOQ Group (which includes Bank of Queensland, Virgin Money Australia and ME Bank) as a Senior Group Financial Accountant during our transformation journey on a permanent full time basis.

With exciting projects currently underway, you will be a key contributor to unique business development and change across the BOQ Group.
As a Senior Group Financial Accountant, you will sit within BOQ Group's financial control team, and will be responsible for ensuring the Bank's financial reporting requirements are met.
You will also seek for systems and controls to be continually developed, enabling timely, efficient and accurate reporting to executive management.
Your primary focus will be on the monthly and annual financial accounting for BOQ Group and subsidiaries, combined with the day-to-day activities for the finance function.
Some of the key responsibilities will include: Group's month-end close process including reviewing the Group's monthly P&L and balance sheet reconciliations for accuracy and completeness and ensure all breaks identified are resolved within the month end deadlines.
Identify improvements and standardisation of existing processes to drive efficiency and enhance controls.
providing oversight and mentoring of Group Financial Accountants while assisting other Senior Financial Accountants and Group Finance Managers in ensuring that the Bank meets its management and statutory reporting deadlines.
Assist with the Group's Half Year and Full Year statutory reporting.
Work collaboratively to meet group deadlines.
Ensure process documentation is accurately maintained.

Qualifications Bachelor of Bus/Comm (Accounting).
Qualification in Accountancy (either CPA or CA or international equivalent) will be preferred.
Experience 7+ years accounting experience as a Financial Accountant in the Finance industry (banking experience preferred but not essential).
Understanding and experience of?financial reporting and management accounting Exposure and understanding of control and risk frameworks Solid understanding of accounting principles and the implementation of new standards Personal Attributes Superior written and verbal communication skills ability to consistently meet deadlines with limited supervision from management.
