About The Role
Due to business growth, we have a requirement for a Specialist - Environment Compliance to join our HSE team. Reporting to the Superintendent Group – Environment the Specialist Environment Compliance role is to provide direct support and governance to ensure the NSW and QLD operational sites comply with environmental regulations.
You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring group environmental policies and procedures to minimise environmental impact and promote sustainable practices. By providing expert guidance and support to operational teams, you will drive a culture of environmental stewardship and compliance throughout the organisation.
We are flexible on location for this role, you can be based in any of our offices in NSW or QLD, with regular travel to our NSW and QLD sites as required.
What You’ll Do
1. Provide timely advice to operational sites Environment Teams to support all NSW and QLD sites compliance requirements
2. Development and governance of environmental improvement projects to support HSE strategic initiatives
3. Provide direct support to the maintenance and improvement of environmental compliance outcomes
4. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and increase value through the use of data analysis and risk
5. Review legislative updates and changes that may affect environmental compliance outcomes
What You’ll Bring
6. Degree qualifications in Environmental Sciences or related discipline
7. 5+ years of experience in a similar role, heavy industry / mining industry experience is preferred
8. Knowledge of regulatory processes in the mining sector
9. Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills
10. Excellent problem-solving skills and great attention to detail
