Deloitte’s Cloud and Engineering Practice helps clients realise the potential of transformational capabilities to solve their most challenging issues. We improve their agility and resilience and identify opportunities to optimise their technology usage. We also accelerate our clients towards a technology-driven future, by implementing vendor solutions as well as Deloitte-developed software solutions and tools.
What will your typical day look like?
As a performance test Engineer, you will;
6. Develop and implement comprehensive performance testing strategies and collaborate with stakeholders to identify test objectives and requirements.
7. Design and develop performance test scripts using tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, and Gatling, and execute various performance tests, including stress, load, and endurance tests.
8. Monitor system performance during tests with APM tools like Dynatrace, New Relic, and AppDynamics, and analyze results to identify performance bottlenecks and scalability challenges.
9. Generate detailed test reports, providing actionable insights and recommendations to improve system performance.
10. Work closely with development, operations, and QA teams to integrate performance testing into the development lifecycle and collaborate with infrastructure teams to optimize system architecture.
11. Stay current with performance testing trends, tools, and techniques, continuously refining and improving testing processes.
12. Document performance test plans, test cases, and results, maintaining and updating testing scripts and configurations regularly.

Required Technical Skills:
16. Experience developing dynamic performance testing suites using at least two tools such as Apache JMeter, Gatling, Artillery, k6, and MicroFocus LoadRunner.
17. Extensive experience in performance test planning, workload modelling, capacity planning, scalability and stability testing, and stress testing for applications of various scales.
18. Proven performance testing experience across multiple platform architectures and technologies, including micro-services, APIs, databases, message queues, and FTP.
19. Experience in performance testing enterprise applications such as Salesforce, SAP, and Workday.
20. Proficiency in testing REST APIs and familiarity with migrating workloads to cloud environments like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
21. Skilled in monitoring application performance using observability tools like Dynatrace, New Relic, AppDynamics, Splunk, and Sumo Logic.
22. Understanding of resilience testing and site reliability practices, including failover and disaster recovery (DR) testing.
23. Experience with CI/CD, infrastructure as code, DevOps, automation, and cloud technology.
