About the Opportunity Translational research context To conduct monitoring and surveillance of health status of the population of SWSLHD, and to conduct population health research and evaluation. To provide high-level advice in epidemiology, evidence-based approaches to population health, and in research methods to the Population Health Executive Leadership Team, Population Health staff and others. Post-graduate degree in public health, epidemiology or closely related area or a combination of relevant study or work experience. Experience in the use of routinely collected data in monitoring the health status of a population and in secondary research. Experience in the initiation and management of population health and related research projects. Experience, or sound understanding, in conducting systematic reviews to inform evidence-based population health programs. Experience in epidemiological, statistical and spatial methods relevant to population health. Experience, or sound understanding, in using geographical information systems. Ability to work collaboratively with clinicians, researchers, and government and non-government agencies. Excellent oral (interpersonal and advocacy) and written (report writing and peer-reviewed publications) communication skills and track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment.
