As a Home Support Worker, your main responsibility is delivering personalized care and social support according to individual support plans. This includes assisting with daily activities while prioritizing the independence, privacy, and dignity of each customer. Engaging in social interactions and promoting autonomy contribute to their emotional well-being. Your role also involves observing, reporting changes, and maintaining clear communication with healthcare professionals and support networks. Emphasizing safety, professionalism, and adaptability to individual needs ensures a comprehensive and compassionate approach to home support.
About the Person
Key attributes for this role include a solid understanding of the ageing process, the ability to empower older individuals by recognising their strengths, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Establishing and maintaining professional relationships, ensuring confidentiality, and respecting clients' values are vital.
Apart from this we ask that you have the following:
* Reliable vehicle and current drivers license
* National Police Check or willingness to obtain one
* 3 x COVID vaccinations
* Influenza 2024 vaccination
* Certificate III in Home and Community Care, Individual Support or Disability Support (Essential)
* Current Senior First Aid certificate (Preferred)
* Smart phone to access the mobile worker app
