Anyinginyi Health Aboriginal Corporation (AHAC) is a multi-disciplinary organisation which provides primary health care services to the Aboriginal people of Tennant Creek and the surrounding Barkly region, dedicated to ‘Closing the Gap’ in Aboriginal health within remote Australia.
Anyinginyi consists of five different sections (Health Services, Business Services, Public Health Unit, Sports and Recreation, and Piliyintinji-Ki Stronger Families) which allow them to have a holistic approach to health ensuring that clients' physical and emotional health and wellbeing is given the utmost priority.

About the Role
The Men’s Clinic Manager provides leadership, management, and coordination of comprehensive primary health care in Anyinginyi Health’s Men’s clinic. This identified position is responsible for ensuring cultural safety and high standards of clinical care and client flow. The position sits within the Health Services Section and leads a multidisciplinary team including a Client Support Officer, Aboriginal Liaison Officer, General Practitioner, Male Registered Nurses and Aboriginal Health Practitioners.
This position necessitates strong relationships with Male clients, effective collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team of colleagues within the Health Services Section as well as other service providers, and a holistic philosophy to overall good health and wellbeing.
Some of your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
* To coordinate a regular meeting of the Men’s Health Nurses and staff across all Anyinginyi Health clinics. Facilitate good communication and positive team dynamic to ensure all roles and responsibilities are understood, allocated, and clearly communicated.
* Create/implement/monitor culturally appropriate activities that promote male engagement with health services.
* To work with other health services and organisations relevant to Aboriginal men in the region, to provide high quality health care to male clients.
* To coordinate/facilitate access to healthcare by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander male clients across the Barkley Region communities.
* Ensure appropriate rostering of staff & client workflow management
* Assist GPs & other clinical staff as required including visiting health professionals & specialists
* Ensure data, reporting & compliance obligations for services are met
* Implement relevant policies & procedures to ensure clinical & legal compliance
* Effectively manage complaints from a range of stakeholders (clients, staff & service providers)
* Work in accordance with Anyinginyi Health’s WHS policy, the WHS Act, Regulations and Code of Practices, including, ensuring that all staff under their control carry out their roles and responsibilities in accordance with these policies, including compliance with workplace inspections, audits and conducting risk assessments.
* Ensure identified WHS non-conformances are rectified.
* Investigate all reported incidents within area of responsibility and report actions to prevent similar occurrences.
* Be the “Go to Person” for Men’s Health related issues, referrals, etc.
* Support and participate in ongoing Continuous Quality Improvement, including contributing to policy development in Men’s Health.
* Other duties as required by line manager
About you
To be considered for this position, you must Possess current registration as either an Aboriginal Health Practitioner or Registered Nurse. and evidenced understanding of the Primary Health Care system and key issues relevant to closing the gap in health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Demonstrated experience providing a broad range of clinical interventions & possess qualifications to provide Vaccinations within the Northern Territory.
Knowledge of quality and accreditation including RACGP accreditation processes and requirements for primary health care services
Previous experience working with an Aboriginal organisation or communities will be highly regarded but is not essential, provided you are able to demonstrate a clear understanding of the issues pertaining to Aboriginal Primary Health Care and the social determinants of health in our surrounding communities.
