What is the opportunity ? As a Software Developer in Test, you will support the HR Incentive Compensation Technology team as both a SDET and Technical Analyst. You will write test plans and testcases, but also use your technical skills to deploy components to QA environments and write scripts using SQL to automate deployments and testing.
1. Write testcases for tools based on business requirements.
2. Perform testing on tools, document results, communicate with the development and business teams.
3. Perform deployments to various environments, including but not limited to QA.
4. Implement DevOps processes for deployments.
5. Implement automation scripts for deployments and test case automation.
6. Implement infrastructure upgrades including but not limited to operating system updates and database version upgrades.
This role based in Halifax and Hybrid What do you need to succeed? Must-have
7. Bachelor’s degree or College certificate in an information technology-related discipline
8. SQL Server experience, including but not limited to writing SQL queries from scratch, upgrading SQL Server, modifying tables, views, and optimizing indexes; Oracle Database experience, including but not limited to upgrading Oracle, modifying tables, views, and optimizing indexes
9. Experience programming in Python
10. Experience with implementing DevOps pipeline, Red Hat Linux
11. Extensive Windows operating system knowledge, including but not limited to IIS configuration (including SSL certificate installation), process automation, Active Directory.
12. 3-5 years of experience as a QA tester 1-3 years experience with automation testing using frameworks like Selenium or Robot Framework.
13. Able to work independently, and in a team environment, and is proactive.
Nice-to-have
14. Software development in MVC core C# with Visual Studio or VS Code
15. Experience with SSIS packages in SQL Server
16. PowerShell experience
17. Experience using JIRA
18. Mainframe skills with JCL and SYSIN on zOS
19. Experience with Microsoft Azure
20. Experience creating test plans, writing and executing test cases, documenting results.
