We are a successful honey producer seeking an experienced Apiarist to join our team at Wynyard in north-west Tasmania.
Our Business
We specialize in wholesale honey production and pollination services. Our focus is on quality Australian honey, from breeding our own queens to using extraction and bulk packaging facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Monitor and maintain the health and condition of the bees.
* Check and re-queen beehives regularly.
* Produce, harvest, and extract honey/honeycomb.
* Inspect bee sites for good breeding conditions and honey production.
* Coordinate farmers for pollination services.
* Maintain equipment.
Requirements
* A minimum of 2-3 years of commercial beekeeping experience.
* The ability to work reliably and autonomously as well as in a team environment.
* A willingness to work away from home when required.
* To be strong, fit, and healthy.
* An HR Truck Licence is advantageous.
