The Role
We are recruiting for a permanent full-time Residential Care Officer.
Position Description
You will be expected to provide a high level of personalized support, assessing clients’ needs and showing care and compassion in developing support programs, liaising with other suitable support organizations to deliver positive and meaningful outcomes for some of the most vulnerable members of our community.
You will work closely with participants, management, and family members to ensure participants are able to enjoy life in a meaningful, safe, and caring environment.
Responsibilities
* Assessing the needs and ensuring access to the most appropriate services to deliver positive outcomes for our clients.
* The ongoing monitoring of progress and liaising with other community groups.
* Providing emotional care and ensuring the nature and extent of difficulties and disabilities is identified.
* Complete job tasks in accordance with participant plans in a timely manner.
* Write and maintain accurate written records and documentation.
Selection Criteria
* Associated Degree or Diploma in Ageing, Disability, or similar industry-related qualifications.
* Ability to apply understanding of “duty of care” to delivering support services and escalate issues when needed.
* Suitable experience in behaviours of concern, ASD, PBSP and strategies and data recordings, restrictive practices, and reporting of incidents and unauthorized reportable incidents, and recording of daily occurrences: social, medical, and behavioural.
* A strong work ethic, a positive outlook, and the ability to remain calm and professional while under pressure.
* Own reliable transport.
* National Police Check, Yellow Card, and Blue Card.
Licence/Certification:
* Working with Children Check (Preferred).
* Driver License (Preferred).
Work Authorisation:
Ability to work full-time in Australia.
Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 per year.
