Are you an experienced and highly motivated Registered Nurse looking to join our Nurse Management team?
Sydney Southwest Private Hospital are seeking a highly passionate, dynamic and engaging Nurse Unit Manager on a full time basis for our Mental Health Unit (South West Clinic).
As a Nurse Unit Manager, you will provide operational direction of the ward by ensuring efficient and effective fiscal management and promote high quality clinical care for our patients. As the leader of this unit you will be a key part of the hospital’s management team and will provide support to the Director of Nursing.
Position Responsibilities –
The position is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the ward/unit to complement the strategic direction, operational processes, budget and business direction of the hospital/facility.
You will provide operational direction for the unit/ward to ensure efficient and effective management of the area and coordinate the delivery of nursing care that is evidence based. In addition you will be accountable for the effective management of human, financial and material resources and ensure customer service is maintained at optimal levels.
As the Nurse Unit Manager you will undertake direct patient care as required providing guidance and support to less experienced members of the nursing team.

Services provided include Surgical Day Surgery, Cardiovascular Surgery, Maternity and Special Care Nursery facilities, Oncology Unit as well as a Mental Health Unit.

Selection Criteria:
4. Current Registration with AHPRA
5. Working with Children check (if relevant)
6. Previous experience at NUM level or equivalent
7. Experience in the Acute setting
8. Degree in relevant specialty area or working towards
9. Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
10. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
11. A strong commitment to developing in a management role
12. A commitment to a high standard of clinical and customer focused care
13. High degree of computer literacy including MS office and various data bases
14. Ability to work cohesively within a team environment
15. Proven time management and prioritisation skills
16. Demonstrate a sound knowledge base in labour management
17. Demonstrated HR management experience
