A little about the role
As a casual Youth Worker, help us make a positive and lasting difference for children and young people who are in out-of-home care, supporting them through our Key Assets foster/kinship program.
Some key responsibilities:
o Undertaking structured supervision and observation of contact with family members, including participating in activities both within and outside the agency premises.
o Supporting children and young people who may have suffered trauma and subsequently present complex needs and challenging behaviours.
o Keeping comprehensive records of work undertaken and providing these as required in a prompt timeframe, in line with Key Assets Policies and Procedures.

About you:
o Must possess a full, current QLD driver's licence.
o Certificate III in Children's Service, or any equivalent qualifications or training in youth or social care is advantageous.
o Prior experience working directly with children/young people, including teenagers, in the care system or other relevant field.
o Demonstrated experience working with children with trauma-related challenging behaviours.
o A comprehensive working knowledge of relevant legislation pertaining to children's services.
o Ability to communicate simply and effectively, both verbal and written, with a diverse staff group at all levels, recognising potential language barriers and cultural differences.
o Must possess a Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or be willing to obtain one.
