This is an exciting opportunity to deliver a major new initiative for a public sector department. This role reports to the team's supervisor and will involve reviewing applications to ensure they are ready for the assessment team to action.
Key responsibilites:
* Identify, analyse, and provide advice on documentary evidence requirements for applicants or their appointed representative to enable assessment of their application.
* Analyse applications to determine their priority and complexity using an interpretation of established policies, guidelines, and procedures.
* Identify and analyse documentary evidence to make interim decisions on applications to respond to the immediate needs of applicants.
* Provide responses and referrals to other agencies.
* Liaise with applicants and other relevant agencies to request any additional information required or evidentiary documents so that the application progresses.
* Manage the payment of invoices.
* Receives and reviews applications for financial assistance in readiness for assessment.
* Determines priority and complexity of applications.
* Complete other relevant tasks as directed by the team and Supervisor.
To be successful:
* A relevant qualification and/or experience in community services, social work, criminology, psychology, victim services and/or family violence is desirable.
* Experience responding to and communicating with vulnerable individuals in a respectful and empathetic manner.
* Ability to undergo a National Police Check
