The Role:
Reporting to the Firmware Team Lead, you will be integrating into a small firmware team to design complex firmware in embedded environments on complex military systems.
Key Technologies Include:
* Real-time signal processing
* Network infrastructure (Layer 2 & 3)
* High speed 5G & 6G communications and surveillance systems
* High speed display port and USB systems
Main Responsibilities:
* Undertake complete design of complex firmware in embedded environments on complex military systems
* Design, debug, and interface to high-speed memory (DDR4)
* Design, debug, and interface to high SERDES (56Gbps+)
* Apply agreed standards, guidelines, patterns, and tools
* Assist as part of a team in the design of components of larger systems
* Create multiple design views to address different stakeholders' concerns and handle functional and non-functional requirements
* Assist in the evaluation of options and trade-offs
* Collaborate in reviews of work with others as appropriate
* Design, develop, and integrate high speed, RTL (System Verilog) designs into parallel FPGA processing environments
* Verify RTL designs using Testbench and framework validation methodologies
Requirements:
* Tertiary qualifications in Electronics Engineering (or a related discipline)
* Proficient in a Hardware Description Language, preferably System Verilog
* Understanding of synchronous logic design methodologies and practices
* Understanding of Intel and/or Xilinx FPGAs
* Understanding of embedded logic engineering techniques and technology as well as interfacing with processors & software
* Familiar with source code control systems and their usage
