Key competencies (role specific criteria)
You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:
1. Ability to effectively use computer systems and basic keyboarding skills particularly for data entry.
2. Ability to utilise appropriate materials for packaging to ensure as far as is practical the safety of items during transit whilst employing safe manual handling techniques.
3. Interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of customers and staff on matters relating to the administration and transport of equipment and supplies.
4. Ability to identify opportunities for improvement, analyse and solve problems by drawing on knowledge and apply logical thought processes.
5. Ability to actively participate in a team-working environment that supports quality human resource management practices supporting including employment equity, anti-discrimination, occupational health and safety and ethical behaviour.
Qualifications, registrations, and other requirements
6. A current C Class Driver's License is required.
7. Travel, Overtime and Work Location Requirements: BTS is committed to providing high quality, responsive service to health facilities throughout the state. Consequently, staff may, following consultation, be required to: attend work at any location within a local government area, perform occasional overtime, participate in arrangements to ensure coverage (e.g. on-call, week-end rosters, early/late shifts), and to travel for periods of up to two weeks at a time. Note: There is little or no overnight travel for transport/despatch roles
8. It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against one or more of the following vaccine preventable diseases during their employment (): measles, mumps, rubella (MMR),varicella (chicken pox),pertussis (whooping cough),hepatitis B, tuberculosis.
